Yeboah Samuel, a YouTuber and advocate, has called out the National Communication Authority (NCA), over the country’s high data cost.
The outspoken young man who is known on X as Tech in Twi claimed that Ghana’s neighbor, Nigeria, had a better system set up for consumers who enjoy online activities and those who periodically undertake activities on social media.
He said;
“We need a change in order to make data consumers in Ghana very happy and feel comfortable and be able to afford them regularly” Currently, Nigeria is enjoying 100-gigabit data for 100 Ghana cedis if we convert their currency to ours. They are enjoying this package with this same MTN network and not a different one. ”

“According to what the NCA released to the public, the average data for 1GB in Ghana is $0.40. Meanwhile, 1GB of data is 17ghc, which is around $1.20. This means the statistics that the NCA provided are outdated or misleading”

Sammy added that he was not going to stop this great cause until there was a drastic change in data prices. The country in recent times has experienced constant outcry mainly from the public who claim to struggle to keep upĀ with its price hikes
