Wedding deception: Why many failed to notice a King Promise wedding video stunt

Ghanaian singer King Promise got a better part of the trends after pictures of him surfaced on various feeds of social media about his secret marriage event in Accra.

The program which had a lavish feel to it was sparked into life after videos of him followed hence many including me had little chance to detect the originality of the whole event. The colorful video has millions of views and has been a topic of discussion for many however I will list reasons why people failed to put their ones and twos together to spot the loopholes that clearly showed that It was all a publicity stunt.

Let us get into that right away;

1. Number of people present at the event

As controversial as this sounds, if this was an actual wedding, the venue would have been packed with people and well-wishers. However, it turned out only a few people were invited to this event with a greater number of them being celebrities. Is that not strange? Videographers would have even been the first to capture these people in attendance at such an event.

Videographers will even capture the smiles and reactions at the grounds just to create a buzz in case a video is released to the public which in return will signify the importance of the marriage occasion. Don’t be quick to say seasoned bloggers took the video thus it was meant to strike a chord because this was all done professionally on purpose.

2. Less celebrity invites

If you have been following King Promise’s career from the onset, you will notice his welcoming persona and this lovable attribute instantly. These qualities are enough to make the whole of the Ghanaian music industry troop into the venue to support him if indeed it was an actual wedding ceremony. The few celebrities shown in the viral video were suspicious to me immediately when I stumbled upon them.

This was because the presence of personalities like Sarkodie, Joey B, Efia Odo, and Dancegod Lloyd never surprised me because these guys have been part of his success story hence I knew after a couple of hours all of this conundrum would be in anticipation of a yet to be released project.

3. Empty decorated boxes and the presence of a goat

Also, I felt this was not an actual wedding when another video of the event showed the selected celebrity groomsmen or colleagues of the singer carrying decorated boxes believed to be gifts. These boxes I felt looked basic and this gave away the top acting exhibited by everyone.

4. Music director’s video

As the buzz around an initial made-believe wedding spread, the video director of the shoot went online to solidify my instincts. He clearly stated that he was working with his brother and hoped to have a successful shoot.

Yes, so there you have it, these are the loopholes that led to many fans believing King Promise was getting married to the lady of his dreams. His bride is a video vixen and model who has worked with him on many projects as well.
